Hidden in the Lincoln Memorial

The profile of the back of Lincoln's head in the Lincoln memorial has led people to suspect a "secret" memorial honoring Robert E. Lee. The hair on the back of Lincoln's head creates a shape that resembles Lee's profile, facing towards his old home, across the Potomac. During the Civil War the land was turned into a cemetery. This is not a confirmed story by the National Park Service, but many believe it was a secret way to honor the other side of the war as well.
