EverRest commemorates the end of mining in the city of Duhamel, Germnay.
Designed by: Simon Takasaki
The monument's organic form is intended to incorporate the surrounding landscape, its urban context, and the historic site upon which it rests. EverRest encircles a well and lifts the viewer from these depths to a light, open gathering area intended for contemplation and reflection. Takasaki wished for the experience to convey a sense of euphoria and enlightenment.
