Spomeniks in Yugoslavia

The Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito commissioned hundreds of monuments to World War II during the 60's and 70's by many different artists and architects. They were meant to convey the strength and power of the Socialist Republic, but now that it has been dissolved they all stand abandoned. They are now scattered all over Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Bosnia.
