Memorial of Jewish Deportation - Borgo san Dalmazzo, Italy

Designed by: Andrea Grottaroli
Built 2007

This memorial commemorates the loss of Jewish life during WWII. The extruded names lie on a raised slab symbolizing the release of Jewish prisoners from the concentration camps. The 20 survivors names are spelt out in 3-dimensional letters, casting ever-growing shadows on the plaques containing the names of those who did not survive.
