Gateway Arch--St. Louis, MO

The Gateway Arch, designed by Eero Saarinen and completed in 1965 is a monument to the western expansion of the United States. It is located at the site of the foundation of St. Louis, on the west bank of the Missouri River.

Hannskarl Bandel was the structural engineer for the Gateway Arch, which follows a hyperbolic cosine function. Fun fact, the arch has 32 observation windows and is 630 ft tall.
