Empty Sky Memorial--Liberty State Park, NJ

Designed by Jessica Jamroz and Frederic Schwartz, this memorial is dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 attacks from New Jersey. It was dedicated on September 10th, 2011.

Not unlike the Vietnam War Memorial, the names of the victims are etched into the base of the memorial. The proportion of the walls a symbolic representation of the buildings as if they were lying on their sides. The memorial visually connects New Jersey to the skyline of New York.
