The Motherland Calls - Yevgeny Vuchetich/Nikolai Nikitin

The Motherland Calls is a statue in Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia, commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad. It was designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and structural engineer Nikolai Nikitin.  When the memorial was dedicated in 1967 it was the tallest sculpture in the world, measuring 279 feet from the tip of its sword to the top of the plinth (for comparison, the Statue of Liberty is only 151 feet, from torch to pedestal), and weighing over 8.700 tons.

The structure has currently moved almost 8 inches due to changes in groundwater, and because the statue is not attached to the foundation, is in danger of collapse.

Not so much a "source," but more pictures can be found here of the entire memorial's complex.
